Dear West Elementary Families:
We are more than half way through the school year and we are so very proud of all the progress that your children are making. Thank you to each and every one of you for making me feel at home and part of the West Family during my first year as Principal.
Our Middie Minutes Reading program is more successful than I could have imagined. The students at West have read 667,039 minutes through January! Just a reminder that homeroom teachers collect reading calendars at the end of every month. Our school goal is to read 1,000,000 minutes by the end of the school year!
Thank you to our students for their respectful, responsible and ready behaviors! Ask your students about the PBIS tickets they earn and what they are redeeming them for! Some prizes include-- positive phone call/notes home, choose the next read aloud in your class, popcorn with the principal, pizza party lunch and many more! At the end of each quarter the PBIS committee has organized a whole school event for students who meet their goal of 25 tickets. Last quarter our students enjoyed “West Fest” where they chose an activity during our celebration, and we had over 98% participation!
Please reach out with any questions or concerns that you may have-- together WE can!
Mrs. Beth R. Hall
West Elementary Principal
