As a new calendar year and winter weather is upon us, I’m reminded that we’re also at the halfway point in our school year. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Midview East community for all of their support during the first half of this school year.
As the second semester begins, this is a time to celebrate the accomplishments of your children through the first semester and to help them set academic goals for the rest of the school year. We are very proud to honor the hard work and accomplishments of students through our PBIS program. Students who have been caught modeling positive behavior at school receive East Cares tickets to redeem for fun prizes from our prize cart. Additionally, students are selected each month by their teachers as “Students of the Month” for their exceptional academic success in the classroom. The relationships our students develop with their teachers and their peers through PBIS are a priority to creating an engaging and motivating academic and behavioral culture at East.
As we continue to think towards the spring, and warmer weather, help us make the rest of the 2019-20 school year engaging for our students. Teachers are busy designing project based learning opportunities for students and diving into Defined STEM project modules. Additionally, much information will be coming out in the coming months regarding MAP and AIR testing. Please take some time to discuss projects and assessment resources with your child at home to help them set goals for the rest of the school year.
Thank you for your continued support of our students at East Intermediate!
