Each year, we begin the school year full of hope, energy and renewed enthusiasm for the important work that we all do to contribute to the development of the children that attend our schools. This year will be special for the Midview Schools.

As Superintendent, I am honored to be a part of this organization. In addition there is positive momentum and calmness about the mission of the district. I've been immersing myself in the Midview culture only to learn that great pride and dedication exists in this district, not only from the teachers and administrators. Most importantly, people have been doing "what is best" for students including moving forward. This pride in service and dedication to children extends to the support staff and to the community.

It is due to this pride and dedication that we will continue to strive to provide the best value and the best service to children we can possible provide. The financial situation in Ohio and our school system is challenging. We must be very thoughtful in our approach to managing the finances and get the most for every dollar.

My focus will be to support and promote effective classroom instruction and experiences with proven methods for operating highly efficient programs and services. Midvview's current continuous improvement program meets the majority of the needs of the district and part of my position will be to promote and communicate this. In addition, the Ohio Improvement Process goals will be implemented this year. With this strong focus on academics and continuous improvement, gains in student achievement scores are inevitable.

I want to personally thank the many kind and supportive people I have met here for your wishes and warm welcome.

To conclude, it is with great pride that I join this community of leaders, advocates and boosters of "what is best" for children. The Midview Schools are heading in the right direction and our spirit will endure as the district continues on our vital mission to prepare children for their futures.
