3/8/10 -- The Midview Schools have been working daily and annually to embed teaching and learning activities with our students in the preparation for the Ohio Department of Education’s Assessments. The Ohio Graduation Test will begin on March 14 at Midview High School. All sophomores will begin testing in five areas and passing scores are a portion of the graduation requirements for a high school diploma. Students do have multiple opportunities to pass this test after the spring assessments of their sophomore year. No two consecutive tests are alike so preparation is ongoing for this important hurdle toward achieving the important goal of receiving a high school diploma. Students are tested in Reading, Writing, Math, Social Studies and Science and must pass as one of the multiple requirements to earn their diploma.
Full Story3/2/10 -- Kindergarten registration for the 2010/2011 school year will be held Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 3:30 pm the week of April 12 – April 16, 2010, at the Midview Schools Administration Offices, 1010 Vivian Dr., Grafton, OH. To be eligible for kindergarten for the 2010/2011 school year, children must be five years old on or before August 1, 2010.
Full Story3/1/10 -- During the month of March, the students and staff at East Intermediate School, and North and West Elementary Schools will be partnering with the American Heart Association to focus on our health and the decisions we make to lead a healthier life style. Throughout the month, we will be discussing the importance that healthy foods and exercise have in our lives and things we can do at home and at school to improve our heart health. We will be discussing nutrition and exercise, but also the cardiovascular system, how the heart works, what a heart attack is and the benefits of not smoking. We are working hard to create the healthiest environment possible at school and are really looking forward to all of the exciting additions that will be taking place this month. Our hard work will be celebrated during our Jump Rope for Heart (West and North Elementary Schools) and Hoops for Heart (East Intermediate School) events the week of March 8-12, 2010.
