Our schools comply with state and federal laws governing access to student records. Our Board of Education has a policy regarding this issue, and you can review this policy in any school building. In summary, the policy says that parents/guardians (and students 18 and over): 1) have the right to examine the records by contacting the appropriate principal; 2) may challenge the content of the records; and 3) may insert in the records an explanation of any disputed information. You should be aware that our Board has adopted a regulation on the release of student information (name, grade level, sex, phone number, date of birth, and address). We will provide this information to “military recruiters and other organizations that are recognized as beneficial to youth.” (Example: Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts). Should you wish to have your child’s name removed from “the directory”, please notify the superintendent in writing at the following address: 1010 Vivian Dr.; Grafton, OH 44044 by September 15, 2007.
The Midview Board of Education does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, age, religion, political affiliation, disability, or sex in its educational programs or employment. No person shall be denied employment solely because of any impairment which is unrelated to the ability to engage in activities involved in the position or program for which application has been made. Judy Skoczen is the IDEA-B Coordinator. Her telephone number is (440) 748-1233 and her office is located at Midview Middle School.
Effective October 1989, the law required that no district admit to first grade any child who has not successfully completed kindergarten. If your child for some reason did not attend kindergarten, please call (440) 926-3737.
