OPEN ENROLLMENT
Attendance in the Midview Schools under open enrollment is open to students who reside in any school district in Ohio.
-
If your child is not registered in your district of residence, you must also register at that school. This could happen if the child attended a private school, is starting kindergarten, or if your family or the child just moved to the area and has never been registered in the district of residence.
-
Applications can be picked up at the Administration Office, 1010 Vivian Drive in Grafton, weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Phone (440) 926-5106 or (440) 926-3737.
-
The custodial parent must make application.
Acceptance:
- Parents are notified by mail of the status of their application in June.
- Class size capacities are set by the district. Students are generally accepted by order of application if there is room in the classes. You may be asked to interview with the superintendent or building principal. We also encourage you to attach information that might help us make a positive decision regarding your student’s qualification for the “Midview Open Enrollment Program.” Examples: Report cards, participating in extracurricular activities, recommendations or any other item that you feel would help us make a decision.
- Acceptance is tentative until the end of the first week of school. If class sizes increase due to increased native enrollment your child can be returned to the home school.
- If you currently live in the Midview District and plan to move to another school district in Ohio but wish to have your children continue attending Midview you must go through the application process outlined. You do not automatically become an open enrollment student.
- No student will be enrolled:
- Unless they have completed a schedule (High School Only)
- Unless they have completed the registration process which includes registering at the home school (if necessary) and at Midview
- Without confirmation that records will be sent
Transportation:
Parents of open enrollment students must provide transportation to a bus stop inside the district. Bus stops will be assigned to open enrollment students in August. Parents of younger open enrollment students are encouraged to have their child dropped off and picked up at a baby sitter inside the Midview District. A transportation request form must be completed in order to facilitate the arrangements for the pick-up and drop-off.
