- Chairman of the Board for the Ross Companies, Inc.
- One of the founders of the Ohio Environmental Service Industries, a statewide association of corporations who manage or generate wastes.
- Served as chairman of the board and on the board of directors of the Environmental Technology Council, a national organization that is based in Washington D.C.
- Past member of the Lorain County Chamber of Commerce (Cromling was the first woman elected Chairman of the Board of this countywide business organization), Community Health Partners, Premier Band and Team Northeast Ohio (NEO), Leadership Lorain County, Lorain County 2020 and the Nord Mental Health Foundation.
- Cromling is a former member of the Elyria Rotary Club, where she was one of its first women members and she served on numerous committees.
- Current member of the Board of Team Lorain County, a county economic development organization, Lorain County Community College Foundation Chair, working to raise funds to benefit LCCC and to provide scholarships to students attending the college.
- Ross Foundation, Inc. co-founder (1984) and current president, supporting educational programs in Lorain County including: Leadership Lorain County, Grafton/Midview Public Library, Center for Leadership in Education, Lorain County Community College, Lorain County Red Cross and the Midview Schools Challenge Grants program.
- Since its inception in 1984, the Challenge Grants program has funded hundreds of programs that have benefited thousands of Midview students.
