2/13/09 -- Over the last two years, The Midview Schools has made more than $1 million in cuts and has nearly the lowest per pupil expenditures in northeast Ohio. In 2008, Midview made two attempts to pass new money into the district to protect the basic needs of our students. With those two levies voted down by the community, the district is in the process of making $1.2 million in cuts from an already bare bones budget.

2/11/09 -- On average, Ohio's districts get about 42 percent of their revenue from the state, 50 percent from local taxpayers and 8 percent from the federal government. But the average masks a wide variation in how much money is available per pupil and how much of that comes from each sector. In Northeast Ohio, the most recent data show Beachwood had the most revenue per pupil while Midview had nearly the least-second only to one other school district--a
difference of nearly $14,000 per student. Full Story
