September 16: Boys Soccer - Geyser Erupts, EC squeaks by Middies

Patrick Geyser scored two goals, on nice assists from Derrick Haas and Jordan Fitzgerald, but it was not enough as the Middies fell to Elyria Catholic last night 4-2 in Adelsberg Stadium.  A strong effort was not wasted, as the Middies almost battled back from an early 3-0 deficit against the Panthers.  The Middies travel to Avon on Wednesday to take on the Eagles.

 

September 9: Boys Soccer - Middie Boys Soccer Claws Keystone
Led by Derrick Haas and Patrick Geyser, who each scored two goals, the Middie Boys Soccer Team defeated Keystone 6-0 last night in an independent game at Keystone.  Jordan Fitzgerald and Robbie Reed scored the other two goals for the Middies, who improved to 1-3-2 last night.  The Middies were dominant all night, shooting 20 shots on goal in the win. Ryan Homoki, Chris Goetz, Josh Turza, and Ryan Reed all contributed with assists.  The Middies travel to Rocky River tomorrow to take on the Pirates.
 
 

September 4: Boys Soccer - Middies Draw Even with Sailors

On a nifty goal by Jordan Fitzgerald on a header from Patrick Geyser, the Middies Boys Soccer team was able to equalize Vermilion 1-1, and move to 0-2-2 and 0-1-1 in the West Shore Conference.  Goal keeper Brandon Beursken was again outstanding in goal, along with Zack Bykowicz and Derrick Haas , all were keys in holding the Sailors to one goal.  The Middies are back in action on Saturday afternoon against Elyria. 

August 30: Boys Soccer - Middie Men Earn Draw with Nordonia 

David Leyva scored the only goal for the Middies, as goalkeeper Brandon Beursken made 12 saves in helping the Middies earn the 1-1 tie.  The Middies tested the Nordonia goalkeeper 7 times, but were unable to put the game winner into the net.  The Middies, now 0-2-1, host Vermilion on Wednesday.  The Knights saw their record move to 2-1-1.

 
August 26: Boys Soccer - Reed's Two Goals Not Enough As Comets Down Middies 5-2
Ryan Reed opened the scoring on a nifty pass from Patrick Geyser in the first five minutes of the match to give the Middies an early 1-0 lead on Amherst.  The Comets, however, came back with two late first period goals to take a 2-1 lead into the intermission.  Amherst then built their lead to 4-1, scoring two goals in the first five minutes of the second half.  Midview briefly got back into the game as Reed headed a beautiful free kick from Derrick Haas to cut the Comet lead to 4-2.  Amherst sealed the victory with a goal in the 74th minute, securing their 5-2 win.  The Middies are back in action Wednesday as they travel to South Amherst Stadium for a meeting with the Falcons.
