Class of 2008
The Midview Athletic Hall of Fame has announced its class of 2008 and will enshrine the following inductees at its banquet on Saturday, September 6 at DeLuca’s Place in the Park. Call Terry Hawke at 440-926-2434 or Dan Haight 440-926-1926 for tickets which are $30.00 each.
NICK WALSH ‘63
Three year letterman in football and basketball. Two year letterman in baseball. He is believed to be the only athlete in school history to captain his team in all three sports in the same year.
DON RENUART ‘77
Three year starter on defense and two year starter on offense and as a member of the 1976 Conference Championship Team, he was selected as an All State Defensive Back. He played football at Baldwin Wallace.
SCOTT JALOWIEC ‘87
All Conference in Junior and Senior years in baseball. Outstanding golfer. Played minor league baseball.
CHAD DIFRANCO ‘92
First Team Erie Shore Conference wide receiver and defensive back. First Team All Lorain County and Second Team All-Ohio defensive back, two year basketball letterman. He played football at Ashland College.
PHIL SHEFFIELD, COACH
He came to Midview as the head football coach in 1971 after a five year stint at Clearview where he compiled a record of 29-14-6, he coached the Middies to a record of 48 wins and 30 losses. His 1974 team had a record of 9-1 and his 1976 Hall of Fame team won 8 lost 1 and tied 1.
Special Recognition
MAHOF further honors those who have made an outstanding contribution of time and effort in support of Midview's student athletes. They receive a “Special Recognition” for their service. This year's recipient is Al Machovina.
