2.17.09 MIDVIEW CAPTURES WSC TITLE – FIRST SINCE 1986 Needing a final win, the Midview Middies capitalized on junior Kevin Patrick’s 9-3 consolation final victory to earn a hard fought 2.5 point win over North Ridgeville in the 2009 WSC Wrestling Championships held at Midview High School.  The Middies used 10 top-3 victories, including individual titles from senior Kyle Sykes at 103 lbs, and junior Tom Lemons at 152 lbs.  Runner-up North Ridgeville led the way with 4 individual titles.  Midview, who captured the regular season title, clinches their first WSC wrestling title, and their first wrestling title in any conference since 1986.

 

2.2.09 Wrestling News

The Midview Middie Wrestlers made it 6 straight wins in the WSC with a resounding 66-9 victory over host Bay.  The Middies received pins from sophomores Jash Ayers and Adam Davis, and juniors Nick Cicone and Jeff Miller.  Charles Boyce also contributed with a :16 pin.  The Middies, now 11-0 overall, and 6-0 in the WSC, host North Ridgeville next Saturday night with the West Shore Conference Regular Season title on the line.

2009 Wrestling Team

 

December 12, 2008: Middie Wrestlers Roll in WSC Opener

Led by 5 pins from Jared Wise, Brandon Dean, Kevin Patrick, Adam Davis, and Paige Gusky, the Middie Wrestling team opened WSC action with a resounding 67-9 victory over Firelands last night in Kubuski Gymnasium.  The Middies won 12 of the 14 bouts in moving their record to 1-0 in the WSC.  The Wrestlers will be back in action next Thursday night at home against Vermilion, match time is 7 pm.
