New Web Page Helps Adults Protect Children from Internet Dangers
A new “Internet Safety and Cyber Predator Awareness” page helps adults learn about the different ways predators operate, the risks associated with the Internet and the steps they can take to protect children in their care. The page, developed by Attorney General Jim Petro, also features access to educational aids for both parents and educators to download.
It is estimated that one in every five children between the ages of 10 and 17 has received an unwanted solicitation online, and one in every 17 of those youths has been threatened or harassed while logged onto the Internet. For more information, click here.
