Down Syndrome Awareness

March 21st is World Down Syndrome Awareness Day.  To help raise awareness to how individuals with Down Syndrome can contribute to our communities when given opportunities, Midview Middle School and the entire Midview School District will be having a Down Syndrome Awareness Spirit Week.  Each day will have a different theme:

Monday - Rock the Extra Chromosome - Dress up like a rock star to support our friends with Down Syndrome who are rockin' an extra chromosome.

Tuesday - Dimes for Down Syndrome - Donate dimes to help support organizations that work with individuals and their families with Down Syndrome.  We will collect dimes all week.

Wednesday - Blue and Yellow Day - Wear Blue and Yellow to bring awareness of Down Syndrome to those around us.

Thursday - World Down Syndrome Awareness Day - "Rock Your Socks" and show your support by wearing colorful socks, mismatched socks, or even extra socks to show that being different is still beautiful.

*Participation in daily events is optional.
