News from Midview High School

It has been an exciting beginning to the 2019-20 school year. The students, staff and teachers came back in September invigorated and eager to learn.

Our parade of Bands was a huge success, as was our Fall Choir Concert. The Athletic teams hit the court and field with enthusiasm and determination. Last Friday in the Homecoming game, the Middies upset the undefeated Olmsted Falls football team, 28-21. TY Nelson and Brianna Bors were crowned King and Queen before the game.

In the coming weeks, Parent-Teacher conferences will be held from 3:00-6:30pm on October 24. In addition, the band has an evening concert on Oct. 24th at 7:00 on Ross Field. Our Annual Academic M awards ceremony will be held on October 28 where our seniors who have compiled a 3.5 or higher for all six semesters of High School heading into their senior year will be honored. Each year we have an honored guest choose a book that will be given to all the recipients. He then will give a talk based on the book that was chosen. This year’s guest speaker will be Youngstown State University President and former Ohio State football Coach – Jim Tressel.

On Oct. 30th, our Annual Trunk or Treat event will run from 5:00-6:00 for our younger Middies.

On November 15, 16, and 17, the Midview Drama Club presents “12 Angry Jurors” as the fall play. Showtimes are 7:00 on the 15th and 16th with a 2:00 matinee on the 17th.
