Midview Athletics Coronavirus Update

As we continue to monitor the fast-developing news surrounding the Coronavirus, I wanted to provide the community with an update on how it currently impacts Midview Athletics.

Governor DeWine has declared that all schools in Ohio will have an extended three-week spring break, starting on Monday, March 16, and extending through April 3. The earliest classes will resume is April 6.

All OHSAA sponsored events are also postponed indefinitely, including the OHSAA Wrestling Championship and spring sport seasons.

Until further notice, All District events are canceled. In addition, Midview School facilities are closed to all outside groups during this time period. Facility Permit cancelation notifications will be come from the maintenance department in the days to come.

From a Midview Athletics standpoint, this includes awards nights, practices, open gyms, conditioning/weight room sessions and games. The weight room is closed until further notice.

Example of canceled events include:

Cheerleading Banquet - March 16
MMS Track and Field Photo Day - March 16
HS Winter Sports Awards - March 18
Boys Basketball Lorain County All-Star Game - March 22
Spring Sports Photo Day - March 24

These are unprecedented times and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding while we navigate through these uncharted waters. I anticipate more information in the coming days and will keep the coaches, student-athletes and families updated as it becomes available.

Stay safe Middies,
