Welcome to Midview Middle School. My name is Scott Goggin and I am the Principal of Midview Middle School.
This is my third year at MMS. Prior to MMS, I was the assistant principal at Midview High School for grades 11+12. I arrived here six years ago from Lakewood High School where I served as a teacher for students with Severe Behavior Disorders, a Job Training Coordinator, and the Head Varsity Fastpitch Softball Coach. I also spent some time as the Assistant Principal at Harding Middle School.
We are very proud of the strides we made last year. Last year:
We achieved 5 out of 7 of the State of Ohio's middle school indicators. These accomplishments place us in the "Effective" category.
We received the Harold Myer Sportsmanship Award from the OHSAA. This is the second year we received this award. Last year we were one of only 15 middle schools in the State of Ohio to receive this award.
We, as a district, achieved 27 out of 30 State of Ohio Report Card indicators!
What a great time to be a part of the Midview School District! We are making great strides every year, in every building!
We expect this year to bring more success to our community and students. We hope that your children continue to grow while enjoying the time they spend here at Midview Middle School.
Resources for Students
Students are faced with many challenges in middle school. These challenges can be with school- work, peers, planning for the future, and making proper choices. This time can be both exciting and confusing. I have selected some websites that have some information that could possibly assist you during this process. Feel free to check out these sites – I hope they help.
This site explains effects of drugs such as marijuana, steroids, and ecstasy. It details facts from studies conducted by health professionals and has sections geared towards students.
A good resourse if you or a friend need some more information on this topic.
Resources for Parents
Sometimes middle school can feel like more of a challenge for the parents than the students. Some of you have been through school with other children and some are going through it for the first time. I have found that it can be hard to find the answers to some questions that arise; therefore, I have selected some sites that may be helpful. I selected sites based upon meaningful topics and questions that I have received in the past.

I would like to recommend the book The Price of Privilege (link will take you to this book on Amazon.com). As a parent and educator, I truly feel you will enjoy this book.
