WE ARE…
The varsity athletic teams from 1956 through
the modern day Middies have sustained a storied history while preserving
a special place in the school district’s surrounding community.
Midview is a member of the Ohio High School Athletic Association,
competing exclusively at the Division I and II levels. While competition
in sports is an important part of the educational experience, its
student-athletes benefit from the many lessons taught through
competition like sportsmanship, team building, goal setting, time
management and leadership development.
The
past and present day Middies are equally successful in the classroom as
they are on the playing fields. Nearly 400 Midview student-athletes
boast a 3.0 GPA while balancing a busy schedule. In addition to their
academic honors, the Middies have also enjoyed success in the playing
arena as they frequently approach the 100 mark in All-Conference
selections each year.
Midview offers 25 sport teams, 11 boys’ teams and 14 girls’ teams. Boys: Football, Soccer, Cross Country, Golf, Basketball, Bowling, Ice Hockey, Wrestling, Track & Field, Tennis and Baseball. Girls: Golf, Volleyball, Soccer, Cheerleading (Fall, Winter & Competition), Cross Country, Basketball, Bowling, Gymnastics, Skippers, Track & Field, Tennis and Softball.
The
Middies joined the Southwestern Conference (SWC) in 2015-16. Nine other local school districts join Midview in the SWC including Amherst Steele, Avon, Avon Lake, Berea-Midpark, Lakewood, North Olmsted, North
Ridgeville, Olmsted Falls and Westlake. The SWC is considered the premier
conference in Northeast Ohio, striving for excellence in athletics while
stressing the importance of academics in the overall equation of
producing well-rounded young men and women.
MAKE A DIFFERENCE…
Midview
High School is committed to high-quality athletic programs and
facilities which not only benefit its student-athletes, but the entire
community. With the current state of public education funding at an
all-time low, funding athletics at the level necessary to grasp quality
and success is a constant challenge. Donations to the Athletic Annual
Fund provide the opportunity for alumni and friends to support and
enhance athletic programs and facilities beyond budgetary
allocations. Your donation may provide new equipment, new uniforms,
facility improvements and a host of other initiatives aimed at enhancing
the over experience of our student-athletes and the community. With the
help of caring alumni and friends, today’s Middies will be able to
continue the strong winning tradition that so many of your extended
families have helped build.
