Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year! While this year may look different than usual, please know that I am here to help make this unique situation as educational and successful for your child(ren) as possible. Do not hesitate to email or call me directly with any questions or concerns you may have. I love hearing positives too!
You have registered for the full year online learning program. If this is incorrect, please contact me as soon as possible so that we can fix any errors in enrollment.
Your child can log on to APEX at any time Monday - Friday for attendance purposes, but may also log in on the weekends. Bookmark this site. There are two APEX log-in screens. One will not work.
Every student must log in to each assigned course at least once per weekday for attendance purposes. Every student must complete at least one quiz in one subject every weekday to be counted present. Students can move through the curriculum at their own pace. However, if we feel a student is getting behind, we will be reaching out to him/her and the parent for support and assistance. As students complete courses, we will assign new ones based on individual graduation pathways.
There are times a student may be ready for the next Lesson or Unit, but we are not ready to release those assignments yet. Please be patient and understanding. This is a learning curve for everyone. In order to meet state attendance laws, course requirements, etc. we may need to modify how and when we release information or unlock tests.
Parent Teacher Conferences will occur on Tuesday, October 13 and Wednesday, October 14. Please add these dates to your calendar now. Communication is going to be extremely important since we are not able to see students face-to-face. I do plan on conferencing with every student and maybe every parent on one of those dates. Online school will not be easy and we need to work as a team to ensure every student’s success.
Commonly Asked Questions:
There is no formal supply list. I suggest paper and pens or pencils so that students can take notes or jot down information as needed.
The fee structure for online learning was board approved at the August meeting. It should be posted to the district website soon.
