Testing & Assessment

Students in grades K-2 do not have end of the year state assessments.  State testing begins in third grade with the AIR reading and math assessments.

Kindergarten

Kindergarten Readiness Assessment (KRA)

  • This assessment includes ways for teachers to measure a child’s readiness for engaging with instruction aligned to the kindergarten standards. 

  • The Kindergarten Readiness Assessment is used to assess four areas of early learning: Social Foundations, Math, Language & Literacy, and Physical Well-Being & Motor Development.

  • Administration of all components must be completed by November 1st.

NWEA MAP - Reading and Math

  • This is a benchmark screening assessment given in the fall, winter, early spring, and end of the year.  Teachers use the data from this assessment to help plan instruction and identify areas of strength and areas for improvement.  Parent reports will be sent home after testing is completed during each assessment period. 

First Grade
