Midview Welcomes new High School Principal and District Treasurer!

MIDVIEW HIRES NEW DISTRICT TREASURER AND HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

GRAFTON, OH – (April 29, 2021) – Midview Local Schools is excited to announce the hiring of a new principal to lead Midview High School and District Treasurer. The district’s Board of Education approved both positions at Wednesday evening’s Regular Board Meeting. With the retirement of current high school principal Thomas Faska, Midview introduced current Lakewood High School Associate Principal, Brian Siftar as its new Principal Wednesday evening. The district also welcomed current Keystone Local Schools Treasurer Mike Resar as the new Midview Treasurer that evening.

Resar comes to Midview from nearby Keystone Local Schools where he has worked as Treasurer/CFO since 2015. Before working with Keystone, Resar was an assistant auditor with the State of Ohio and an accounting specialist with Lorain County. Resar was reached for comment on his new appointment: “I'm very excited to be joining the Midview Local School District. Midview is known for being an innovative educational leader by providing a high-quality education for all students. I look forward to joining this outstanding, highly respected team and applying my education and experiences to serve the Board of Education and the Middie community.”

“Mr. Resar’s vast experience in government accounting and school finances is a valuable asset for Midview. As a Board, we were looking for someone who could continue our strong fiscal accountability.” said Midview Board of Education President Tom Tomasheski. “It is outstanding that we were able to find such a qualified leader that lives close to the community and grew up in the area that has led a district that neighbors Midview. Mike’s ability to understand school finance and then communicate it in a way that connects with our community is definitely a trait we wanted in our next Treasurer and he clearly excels at that.”

Siftar has been with Lakewood Schools since 2008 when he was hired on as House Principal at the high school. He has since held several positions including Emerson Elementary Principal and Director of Special & State/Federal Programs, supervising the technology departments within the district. Siftar said his career has been built on trying to do as much as he can to help districts succeed.
“Fostering positive relationships with all stakeholders and being a part of initiatives bigger than oneself so that young people have the opportunity to pursue their dreams is the environment that I strive to cultivate,” Siftar said. “Having been blessed to learn from and collaborate with many accomplished educators has fueled my desire to learn and contribute even more.”

“We’re excited to be bringing in someone who will continue the Midview tradition of excellence in education and community,” said Midview Superintendent Dr. Bruce Willingham. “It’s important for us to provide an environment of support for our students and Mr. Siftar has extensive experience in doing just that.”
