Oscars & Bellas

In an extraordinary act of generosity, Oscar’s Barn and Bella’s Creamery have donated $27,000 to Midview Local Schools to cover the district’s outstanding meal balances as of November 1.

Superintendent Dr. Frank Major shared the news during the November 19 Board of Education meeting. The funds will be evenly distributed across all student accounts with outstanding balances as of the November donation date, with adjustments scheduled to be applied after Thanksgiving Break.

“There really aren’t enough words to express our gratitude to our friends at Oscar’s Barn and Bella’s Creamery,” said Superintendent Dr. Major. “They stepped forward not for recognition, but out of genuine care and compassion for our families.”

The team at Oscar’s Barn, a popular local event venue, and Bella’s Creamery, known for its handcrafted ice cream, approached the district seeking a meaningful way to support Middie families. They saw covering meal balances as a tangible way to make a difference—especially during a year when many continue to feel financial pressure. When asked if they wished to share a message with our school community, their response was simple and heartfelt: they hoped to give families “one less thing to worry about.”

Midview Local Schools extends its deepest gratitude to Oscar’s Barn and Bella’s Creamery for their extraordinary generosity and continued commitment to supporting Middie families.
