NHS Inductees

Prior to spring break, Midview High School inducted 30 students from the Classes of 2026 and 2027 into its chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS), recognizing their achievements in scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

The National Honor Society encourages students to uphold these four pillars not only as members, but as role models for the entire student body. At Midview High School, juniors and seniors become eligible for NHS consideration by maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.

If invited to apply for membership, candidates must prove completion of eight service hours from the current academic year. In addition, applicants must request sponsorship from five different individuals who may attest to the student's participation in service and leadership activities outside of academics. Character, the fourth and arguably the most transparent of the pillars, is determined by ratings from the academic faculty at Midview High School. Character assessment includes but is not limited to behavior, timeliness, honesty, integrity, discipline, and flexibility, both inside and outside the academic environment. Final selection is determined by a faculty council.

“The ambition our students have to achieve their goals and overcome challenges is inspiring,” said Amy Guildoo, MHS National Honor Society co-adviser. “Each year, I am overjoyed by the number of students who meet the foundational requirement of a cumulative 3.5 GPA and choose to pursue NHS membership. Those seeking induction into NHS demonstrate the enthusiasm, drive, and sense of responsibility required to meet the organization’s high expectations. Because NHS is largely student-driven, with Mrs. Hanhauser and me serving as co-advisers in a supporting role, it is a gift to watch students grow into the leaders we know them to be. I am continually impressed by the leadership our members show through community connections and outreach. Seeing them develop and refine their altruism is truly rewarding.”

Midview’s NHS chapter, originally chartered on April 22, 1956, held its 69th induction ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of the following students:
