The 2021 DiFranco Memorial Basketball Classic is scheduled to return to Kubuski Gymnasium on Wednesday (November 24) afternoon. The 21st edition of the event is back after a one-year hiatus due to the pandemic and will feature five varsity basketball match-ups.
North Ridgeville and Firelands boys will tip-off the day at 1 PM. Midview's girls will open Southwestern Conference play against Avon at 2:30 PM. Amherst Steele is slated to play Oberlin at 4 PM. Elyria and Vermilion battle at 5:30 PM. Midview's boys will once again conclude the night against Keystone at 7 PM.
All proceeds from program advertisements, program sales and 50-50 raffles go directly into the DiFranco Sportsmanship Scholarship fund. Midview senior student-athletes who earned a varsity sportsmanship award during their careers are eligible for the annual post-graduate scholarship. To date, we have raised over $66,000 through this tournament, which began in 2000.
