For the sixth consecutive year, Midview Local Schools is proud to announce that Midview High School, Midview Middle School, Midview East Intermediate, and Midview West Elementary schools have been recognized as a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Distinguished Schools for their commitment to expanding student access, engagement, and achievement in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.

PLTW is a nationally recognized nonprofit organization that develops transformative STEM curricula for elementary, middle, and high schools across the U.S. Through its programs, learners build both subject-matter knowledge and essential, transferable skills they will use both in school and for the rest of their lives, on any career path they take.

“This PLTW distinction highlights Midview's deep commitment to innovative learning,” said Director of Curriculum and Instruction Jodi Wolf. “A top instructional priority in the district is ensuring our students are engaged in research-based practices that foster active engagement, critical thinking, and the authentic application of knowledge. The true strength of the PLTW curriculum lies in its balanced instructional model—blending hands-on learning with collaborative projects that give students real ownership of their education. Ultimately, this recognition validates that Midview is actively equipping our students to be the critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and leaders of tomorrow.”

Midview West Elementary and Midview East Intermediate were named PLTW Distinguished Launch Schools, joining just 18 other schools in Ohio. The Launch program introduces students in elementary school to STEM concepts through imaginative, play-based learning experiences.

Midview Middle School was one of only 12 Ohio schools to earn the PLTW Distinguished Gateway School award. This designation recognizes middle-level programs that expand students’ STEM exposure through engaging, project-based learning aligned with real-world applications.

Midview High School was named a PLTW Distinguished High School, a title held by only 23 high schools in Ohio. This recognition reflects the school’s commitment to offering advanced pathways in biomedical science and engineering, helping students build the knowledge and skills needed for success in college and careers.
