Transpo Update

There will be two road closures impacting our district in mid-October. These closures will affect our school bus routes and will likely also impact parents who pick up and drop off their students, as well as our young drivers.

Road closures to be aware of:

  • Novak Road: Novak Road is currently in the third and final stage of its resurfacing project. The project is expected to be completed in November.

  • Main Street Railroad Crossing: The railroad crossing on Main Street is scheduled to close October 12-16, though we anticipate it could take a little longer than projected.

Our Transportation Department has been working proactively to create alternate routes and adjust bus schedules around these closures. Even with those adjustments, families should expect slight changes to their normal transportation times while the closures are in place. This may include students being picked up a few minutes earlier than usual and arriving home a few minutes later.

Based on their routes and proximity to the closures, the following buses will see the greatest changes, with some schedules adjusted by approximately 10–15 minutes:

  • East/Middle Routes: Bus 4 and Bus 7

  • Midday Routes: Bus 11

  • North/West/Preschool Routes: Bus 17 and Bus 27

All bus-riding families are encouraged to reference the StopFinder app during the closure to see the most up-to-date information about their child’s bus schedule. As always, our Transportation Department encourages students to be out at their stops five minutes before their scheduled pick-up time.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate these closures and keep our students’ trips to and from school as efficient as possible.
