Additionally, from August 16-18, a bus will be stationed at Albert’s Market to continue collecting donations for Middie families in need and to officially “stuff the bus”! Mrs. Sandell's 7th-grade science students worked to investigate a groundwater contamination problem in the fictitious town of Fruitvale! They began with an investigation of the initial clues and conducted research and experiments, such as testing well water samples, to determine the location and source of contamination. They concluded by selecting a clean-up plan for the town that was the most timely and cost-effective!

This year, Christmas came early for several students thanks to the kindness and work of our Midview Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE) members, which includes maintenance and custodians, bus drivers and mechanics, kitchen staff, secretaries, and library/educational/special education paraprofessionals. Over the last several weeks, staff members worked together to donate and collect funds to purchase bicycles as part of their new Bikes for Kids Program. This past weekend, they assembled and hand-delivered new bikes to 13 deserving students in grades K-4!

Our MHS Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) recently visited middle school physical education classes to share more about their program and to teach our 7th and 8th-grade students about leadership. Middle schoolers participated in various physical activity challenges while learning about character, self-discipline, citizenship, and community service!
